🅿️ Parking in Winterton

The village streets around the church are narrow, so please don't rely on parking right outside. The easiest option is the beach car park at the end of Beach Road — it's large, open dawn to dusk, and a short walk from the church. If it's busy, there are a few spaces in front of the Village Hall.

Add any arrangement you make with the church (e.g. reserved spaces for less mobile guests).

🅿️ Parking at The Boathouse

Easy — The Boathouse has plenty of free parking on site, right by the venue.

If you're leaving a car overnight, check the venue's overnight policy and note it here — handy to know before the toasts start flowing.

🚗 Between the two

It's roughly 15 minutes from Winterton to The Boathouse. Car-sharing is a good shout — fewer cars to shuffle at the end of the night.

🚕 Taxis

Worth pre-booking for the trip home, especially for a midnight finish.

Local taxi numbers — add a couple here.

🛏️ Making a night of it?

If you'd rather not drive home, The Boathouse itself has boutique rooms and woodland lodges on site — you can roll straight from the dance floor to bed. They book up fast, so get in early if you fancy one.

Add booking details or any room block you arrange.

A note on gifts

Gifts

Honestly, having you with us on the day is the only gift we're after. Your company, a full dance floor and a few happy tears are more than enough.

That said, several of you have kindly asked. Rather than a traditional list, we're putting a little something towards our first adventure as a married couple — and any contribution, however small, would mean the world.

Questions & answers

What's the dress code?

Smart and celebratory. It's a late-March wedding on the coast, so the church can be cool and Winterton catches a sea breeze — bring a warm layer you're happy to be photographed in, and shoes that cope with a bit of grass. Add a specific dress code if you have one (e.g. lounge suits / black tie).

What time should I arrive?

Please aim to be seated at the church 20–30 minutes before the ceremony. See the full running order on The Day.

How do I get between the church and the reception?

It's about a 15-minute drive from Winterton-on-Sea to The Boathouse in Ormesby St Michael. We'd suggest car-sharing or pre-booking a taxi. Mention here if you're laying on transport.

Can I bring my children?

Add your child policy here — e.g. "We adore your little ones and they're very welcome," or "We've planned an adults-only celebration so you can let your hair down."

Can I bring a plus-one?

Your invitation will name exactly who's invited. If you're unsure, just ask us.

What will the weather be like?

Late March in Norfolk is usually cool — think roughly 7–11°C — and the coast can be breezy or showery. Layers, a smart coat and comfortable shoes are your friends.

Is there parking?

Yes. In Winterton, use the beach car park at the end of Beach Road (a short walk from the church) — the village streets are narrow, so please avoid parking on them. The Boathouse has plenty of free parking on site. Full details are on Travel & Stay.

Can I take photos?

During the ceremony we'd love you to be fully present — please keep phones tucked away so our photographer gets a clear shot. After that, snap away and share to your heart's content. Add a wedding hashtag or photo-sharing link if you'd like.

Confetti?

Yes please — biodegradable petals only, outside the church. Confirm with the church and adjust if needed.

Where should I stay?
